By Dana Harris

Jon Bon Jovi has been cast as the lead in VAMPIRES: LOS MUERTOS for Sony-based Screen Gems. Production will begin early next year on location in Mexico.

Jack Lorenz will produce from a script by Tommy Lee Wallace (STEPHEN KING'S 'IT'), who will also direct. John Carpenter and
Sandy King are executive producers.

Carpenter's credits include the 1998

Bon Jovi can currently be seen in Mimi Leder's PAY IT FORWARD. His acting credits also include U-571 and NO LOOKING BACK. He will be performing at next year's Super Bowl.

Screen Gems recently completed principal photography on the sci-fi action film
JOHN CARPENTER'S GHOSTS OF MARS, which stars Natasha Henstridge, Ice Cube and Jason Statham. GHOSTS OF MARS will be released next summer.

Screen Gems was established as a new marketing label under Sony Pictures Entertainment in December 1998. Releases this year include Mike Figgis' TIMECODE and the Sundance 2000 grand jury prize winner GIRLFIGHT. Upcoming releases include SNATCH and THE BROTHERS.

Bon Jovi is represented by CAA.
