THESP DUVALL CLOSES IN ON 'CARPENTER'S GHOST'

Clea DuVall is in final negotiations to co-star in the sci-fi action thriller JOHN CARPENTER'S GHOSTS OF MARS, opposite Courtney Love, Ice Cube, Jason Statham and the recently inked Joanna Cassidy.

A Screen Gems production, lensing is slated to start in early August in New Mexico. Pic will be produced by Sandy King and Carpenter's Storm King Prods.

DuVall, who will next be seen in Lions Gate's comedy "BUT I'M A CHEERLEADER," recently co-starred in Columbia's "GIRL INTERRUPTED," opposite Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie. She also played Charlize Theron's younger sister in New Line Cinema's "THE ASTRONAUT'S WIFE."

Actress grabbed attention in Dimension Pictures' "THE FACULTY"; her performance earned her a nomination in the category of break-out performance from both the Blockbuster and the 1999 Teen Choice awards.

DuVall is managed by Gotham-based MJ Management and repped by Innovative Artists as well as attorney Steve Warren.
