SAM NEILL (David Jenkins) first received international recognition in the hit Australian film My Brilliant Career, and starred twice opposite Meryl Streep, in A Cry in the Dark and Plenty.

Neill was born in Northern Ireland and raised in New Zealand. After graduating from the University of Canterbury, he was a member of the Amamus Theatre for two years. In the early ‘70s, Neill joined the New Zealand Film Unit, where he combined acting and directing.

Among his other film credits are The Hunt for Red October, Dead Calm, Possession, From the Far Country, Enigma, The Omen: The Final Conflict and the Warner Bros. release Until the End of the World. His television work includes the telefilm Ivanhoe, Amerika, Kane and Abel, the PBS series Reilly – Ace of Spies and The Fever for HBO.

He has teamed up with John Carpenter on two films, In the Mouth of Madness and Memoirs of an Invisible Man.
