Marion Rothman

Memoirs of An Invisible Man marked editor MARION ROTHMAN’s third collaboration with director John Carpenter: she previously cut Christine and Starman for him.

Rothman’s bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from UCLA and two years of French study at the Sorbonne led to a job in 20th Century-Fox’s story department and helped her sell her own teleplay to the Loretta Young Show.

Her interest in editing began when she took screening-room notes for director George Stevens on The Diary of Anne Frank. Her film editing career started at Fox with features emphasizing visual effects—The Boston Strangler and two of the early Planet of the Apes films.

Rothman has edited many feature films, including Mystic Pizza, Play It Again, Sam, Starting Over, Dr. Dolittle, All Night Long, Comes a Horseman, and The Island of Dr. Moreau.
