| MEG FOSTER is best known for her diverse selection of roles, from that of Hester Prynne in the PBS production of The Scarlet Letter to Evil-Lyn in the 1987 feature film, Masters of the Universe. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, one of five children, Foster grew up in Rowayton, Connecticut. As a child, she attended the exclusive Rogers Hall boarding school in Lowell, Massachusetts, and began acting in school productions. She studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York and made her off-Broadway debut in The Empire Builders, then moved to Los Angeles to further her career. Since then, Fosters roles in film have included Adam at 6 A.M., opposite Michael Douglas, The Osterman Weekend, A Different Story, The Emerald Forest, and Carney. Her television roles include parts in Sunshine, Sunshine Christmas, Guyuna Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones, the role of Chris Cagney in the pilot for Cagney & Lacey, Washington: Behind Closed Doors and Things in Their Season. Meg Foster appears as Holly in director John Carpenters They Live. Holly, who works at television station Cable 54, where the aliens secret signal is being broadcast to the world, is first abducted by John Nada and then learns first-hand about the threat he is trying to combat. |
