| Her performance starring in the CBS telefilm David's Mother as the determined mother of an autistic son, drew rave reviews from critics and audiences and earned her an Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Special. KIRSTIE ALLEY is probably best known for her portrayal or Rebecca Howe on NBC's Cheers, one of the most highly rated and critically acclaimed television shows of all time. During her six years as the feisty bar manager, Alley won the Emmy, Golden Globe and People's Choice Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, as well as earlier Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. Alley starred in TriStar Pictures' 1989 top-grossing comedy Look Who's Talking. In the film, Alley stars opposite John Travolta, as she did in the sequels Look Who's Talking Too and Look Who's Talking Now. A native of Wichita, Kansas, Alley has also appeared in films such as Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Sibling Rivalry, Summer School with Mark Harmon, Runaway with Tom SelIeck, The Champions with John Hurt, Shoot to Kill with Sidney Poitier and Tom Berenger, Loverboy with Patrick Dempsey and Madhouse with John Laroquette. |
