Donald M. Morgan

With Starman, Director of photography DONALD M. MORGAN, A.S.C., worked with John Carpenter for the third time, having previously worked on John Carpenter’s Elvis and Christine.

Morgan worked as a film lab technician from 1953-64, and became an animation photographer for a short time. He quickly moved on to live action, which led to a job as an assistant aerial cameraman. He quickly got into the union and became a full fledged cinematographer. Morgan’s aerial background came in very handy on Starman, where he had to orchestrate airborne helicopter shots for a climactic crater sequence.
